GB Flange Gate Valve, that is, national standard flange gate valve, is a common type of valve, its main role is to control the flow of fluid, to realize the opening or closing of the medium. The opening and closing part of the gate valve is the gate plate, the direction of motion of the gate plate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, and it can only be fully opened and fully closed, and can not be adjusted and throttled. The two sealing faces of the most commonly used mode gate valve form a wedge, and the wedge Angle varies with the valve parameters, usually 50°, and 2°52' when the medium temperature is not high. The type of gate valve can be divided into wedge gate valve and parallel gate valve according to the sealing surface configuration, wedge gate valve is one of them.

When the gate valve is closed, the sealing surface can be sealed only by relying on the medium pressure, that is, relying on the medium pressure to press the sealing surface of the gate plate to the seat on the other side to ensure the sealing of the sealing surface, which is self-sealing. Most gate valves are forced to seal, that is, when the valve is closed, it is necessary to rely on external forces to force the gate to the seat to ensure the tightness of the sealing surface.

The gate valve's gate plate moves in a straight line with the valve stem, which is called the lifting lever gate valve (also called the bright lever gate valve). Usually there is a trapezoidal thread on the lifting rod, and through the nut at the top of the valve and the guide groove on the valve body, the rotating motion is changed into a straight motion, that is, the operating torque is changed into the operating thrust.

GB flange gate valve design and manufacturing standard is GB/T 12234-1989, inspection and test standard is JB/T 9092-1999. The end flange size follows GB/T 9112~9124; HG 20592~20635;  JB/T 74~90. Face to face and end-to-end dimensions follow GB/T 12221; GB/T15188.1.

GB cast steel gate valve is suitable for nominal pressure of 4.0 mpa ~ 10.0 mpa working conditions, the working temperature range is -29℃ to 600℃, suitable for petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, chemical fertilizer, electric power and other industries of the pipeline, used to cut off or connect the pipeline medium. Applicable media include water, oil, steam, acid media, etc.

In the model representation method of GB flanged gate valve, GBL stands for flanged gate valve, GBW stands for bellows flanged gate valve, full diameter design. The connection method can be national or American standard flange, the sealing material is metal, and the filler is PTFE/ flexible graphite. Nominal pressure ranges from PN16/150LB to PN40/300LB, body and internals can be WCB, CF8 or CF8M.
